We are all delighted to be in our class together and have made great friends!
This year we have been enjoying learning in a quieter class. We are able to get our literacy and maths work done on our own with our teacher. Every day we do our fine motor exercises and our gross motor activities with Smart Moves! We are doing our cutting and sticking, our arts and crafts, our SESE and our sensory play. We have movement breaks and go to our beautiful sensory room every day. We also listen to relaxing music.
We have been going to the shop with our lists and then buying our ingredients for baking. We scan our groceries then pack them and pay for them. We have learned to weigh out our ingredients and then to bake our goodies. Then we wash our dishes afterwards.
We are learning how to touch type and are getting very good at it! We have chrome books to help us with maths and literacy games as well as the typing.
We are learning to taste new foods at school. We are able to use the toaster to make our toast and we get our hot lunch every day. We even get to go to the shops on Fridays to buy new fruit to taste.
So far we have had tennis with the wonderful Maria and have gone horse-riding in the stables in Oldtown.
At yard time we can integrate into the big yard or stay in the smaller yard with the playground equipment.
We also invite friends to our classroom and play board games.
Some of us are taking part in the school's basketball league.
We also go to assemblies and even get special mentions for our excellent behaviour.
We have had a busy year so far and our teachers and SNAs are very, very proud of us!!
