Launch of Skerries ETNS School Lottery

Dear parents/guardians and members of the wider school community,

I'm writing to you to let you know that Skerries Educate Together NS is launching a school lottery on 19th December 2024.  This will involve a weekly online lottery each Thursday night at 8:00pm and you can register for this by following this link https://www.ourfundraiser.ie/org/skerriesetns. There is also an attached flyer with a QR code that can also be scanned to access the registration page.

Thanks to those who engaged with our request for feedback in relation to school fundraising last week.  More than two-thirds of respondents (68%) said that they would be happy to take part in a school lottery, with another 13% replying that they would consider it if they had some more information.  I'm including a link to a frequently asked questions page on the Our Fundraiser website that will help answer some of the questions you may have here, and I hope that this is useful.  

The Board would like to stress that participation in this lottery is completely optional, and that for those who would rather not (or simply cannot) participate, this is of course very understandable and totally respected.  This lottery will continue until the end of June 2025, at which point the Board will review its effectiveness and make a decision on how best to proceed beyond that.  It is also open to other adult family members (i.e. aunts, uncles, grandparents) and members of the local community to participate if they wish.  The funds raised will be used to help the school with its ongoing running costs and to support the learning of all of the children in Skerries Educate Together.
