Trip to Phoenix Park
5th Apr 2025
On Thursday April 4th, the children of 3rd, 3rd/4th and 4th class visited Phoenix Park visitor centre.
Here they learned about the history of the park, it's uses today and some of the events that take place in the park. We were given a guided tour of Ashown castle and the many important people who lived there. We also visited the Victorian walled gardens and the Phoenix Park visitor centre which has some displays explaining about the park and some more recent events which took place in the park.

Along the way we passed some famous sights such as Áras an Uachtaráin, The Papal Cross, Phoenix monument and we got to see the many deer that live in the park.
Thankfully the sun came out and the children had time for a picnic and playing in the playground.
